What cookies are
Cookies are small values stored by a browser. Similar session technologies may keep a form secure, remember login state or prevent repeated counting during one visit.
Cookies and sessions currently used
| Technology | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|
| PHP session cookie | Security tokens, administrator or comment login state, contact-form messages and repeat-view controls. | Browser session |
jotuno_reader_id | Creates a pseudonymous identifier so a reader can like or dislike an article without a named Jotuno account. | Up to one year |
The shipped PHP configuration does not enable behavioural advertising or analytics cookies by default.
Google and social platforms
Google may set or read its own cookies when you choose “Sign in with Google” for commenting. Social share links may open third-party apps or websites that apply their own cookie policies. Jotuno does not control those technologies.
How to control cookies
Browser settings can block or delete cookies. Blocking the session cookie may prevent login, secure forms and other interactive features from working. Deleting jotuno_reader_id resets the browser’s local pseudonymous identifier, although previously stored aggregate counts may remain.
Analytics, advertising and future changes
If Jotuno introduces non-essential analytics, advertising, embedded-media or newsletter tracking, this policy and the Privacy Policy should be updated before activation. Consent controls will be added where required by applicable law.
