Ideas worth jotting down

About Jotuno

An independent publication and discovery platform built for people who want useful context—not more noise.

Why Jotuno exists

Curiosity deserves clarity.

The internet gives us more information than ever, but volume is not the same as understanding. Jotuno was created to make complex subjects easier to approach, useful ideas easier to remember and credible organisations easier to discover.

We publish accessible coverage across technology, business, education, health, lifestyle, science, world affairs and opinion. Alongside our editorial work, the Jotuno Directory introduces readers to businesses, services and organisations that may be relevant to their needs.

01

Useful before impressive

We prefer clear explanations, practical context and honest limitations over inflated claims.

02

Independent judgement

Advertising, directory placement and partnerships do not purchase favourable editorial conclusions.

03

Accountable publishing

Named authors, editorial desks, correction routes and policy pages make responsibility visible.

04

Respect for readers

We design for comprehension, privacy, accessibility and the reader’s right to reach their own decision.

A
Editorial

Stories that explain what matters—and why.

Jotuno articles include explainers, practical guides, analysis and opinion. We distinguish evidence from interpretation, avoid presenting early developments as settled facts and add context when a claim has meaningful limits.

Individual contributor pages show each author’s coverage. Collective desk bylines are used when a story is developed or substantially reviewed by an editorial team.

B
Discovery

A directory designed to inform, not merely list.

The Jotuno Directory helps readers discover businesses and useful services. Listings may be free or paid, but commercial placement is labelled and does not amount to an endorsement. Readers should still make their own checks before purchasing or sharing sensitive information.

Our directory standards explain eligibility, verification, ranking and removal in more detail.

C
Process

Publishing is a responsibility, not just a button.

Our working standard covers topic selection, sourcing, review, author accountability, corrections and the responsible use of editorial tools. Reader comments require Google authentication and manual approval. Corrections and privacy requests have dedicated contact routes.

Standards evolve with the publication. When we materially change a policy, we update the page date and apply the improved process to new work.
