Contribute something worth keeping

Author Guidelines

The originality, evidence, disclosure and quality standards expected from every Jotuno contributor.

What fits Jotuno

We welcome thoughtful explainers, practical guides, responsible analysis and distinctive opinion across our main categories. A suitable article gives readers more than a summary: it clarifies a problem, supplies context, evaluates trade-offs or helps someone make a better-informed decision.

Published and scheduled long-form articles are normally at least 2,000 words in the current publishing system, but length must come from substance—not repetition.

What to submit

Send a proposed headline, two- or three-paragraph summary, key sections, why the subject matters now and links to relevant writing samples. Explain any first-hand expertise or access that strengthens the pitch.

Originality and prohibited submissions

Submitted work must be original and must not reproduce copyrighted material, conceal plagiarism or duplicate substantially identical pages published elsewhere. We do not accept fabricated experience, sources, quotations, reviews, credentials or case studies.

Articles created primarily to insert manipulative backlinks, promote prohibited services or imitate independent editorial coverage will be rejected.

Evidence, attribution and links

Provide direct source links for material claims and identify any quotation, dataset, study or public document used. Links should help the reader verify or understand a point. Commercial links must be relevant and disclosed; inclusion is never guaranteed.

Artificial intelligence and editorial tools

Do not submit unverified tool output as fact. AI must not invent sources, quotations, evidence, identities or personal experience. If tools materially assisted the work, disclose the nature of that assistance to the editor. The contributor remains responsible for every submitted claim.

Conflicts and promotional relationships

Disclose employment, ownership, investment, sponsorship, client relationships, free products or other connections that a reasonable reader would consider relevant. Contributors writing about their own organisation must make that relationship clear.

Editing, publication and rights

Jotuno may edit for structure, clarity, accuracy, style, safety, search presentation and legal risk. Material changes should preserve the contributor’s meaning or be discussed where practical. Acceptance is not guaranteed, and publication timing remains an editorial decision.

By submitting accepted work, the contributor confirms they have the necessary rights and grants Jotuno permission to publish, format, promote, archive and make reasonable updates to that work. Any different commercial arrangement must be agreed in writing.

Author identity and profile

Use a genuine public name or an approved editorial desk identity. Profile photographs must be authorised. Qualifications, employment, locations, achievements and social links must be accurate and capable of verification. Jotuno may remove unsupported profile claims.
